Stafford Township Police Department Would Like to Alert Residents of a Recent Incident

The Stafford Township Police Department would like to alert residents of a recent incident in our township.
On December 1 2010 a Stafford Township resident was the victim of fraud resulting in the theft of jewelry from her home. A male Hispanic subject knocked on the victim’s door identifying himself as a township employee who needed to check the home’s water system. While the resident escorted the alleged worker to various locations in her home to check the water system, a second person entered the home without the homeowner’s knowledge and subsequently rummaged through the bedrooms taking jewelry and other personal items. A vehicle described as a white van was believed to be used by the suspects. All residents are urged to request identification from persons entering their property. All township employees can be identified by their uniforms and should be asked to show identification.
