Reinstatement of Ptl. Marisa Fence and Ptl. Christopher Smith
Stafford Township Mayor John McMenamin announced today he has authorized the reinstatement of Ptl. Marisa Fence and Ptl. Christopher Smith who were laid off on April 1, 2010 due to budgetary constraints. The officers will return to full duty on Monday, February 14, 2011 and will be assigned to uniform patrol duties.
Chief Joseph Giberson, Lieutenant Gordon VonSchmidt and Lieutenant Thomas Dellane approached the Township and offered to take a salary reduction to bring the officers back on February 14, 2011. This concession enabled the Mayor to fulfill his commitment to bring the officers back to duty when it was financially feasible to do so.
Mayor McMenamin expresses his deep appreciation to Chief Giberson, Lieutenant VonSchmidt and Lieutenant Dellane for their willingness to place the wellbeing of the Police Department above personal benefit.
