A Message from the Superintendent...

The Stafford Township Department of Public Works welcomes you to our web page. As you review the information contained in this website, you will find the various services this department offers. In addition, you will find a brief explanation on each division and who to contact when you have questions regarding these services.

My career with Stafford Township began August 1990 as Superintendent. Prior to that time, I was Superintendent of Public Works for Barnegat Township. I am a Certified Public Works Manager and also serve as the Township Safety Coordinator. During my tenure as Superintendent, this department has undergone significant changes. In 1994 the switch to automated trash collection was implemented. In 1996, straight rock salt and liquid calcium were added to our snow removal aresenal for de-icing.  . . During 2001, recycling collection was changed to semi-automated one man collection. Fully automated collection of Single-Stream Recycling began in 2009. This year, we have added anti-icing with salt brine to our snow removal program.

The departments' mission, vision, and value statements provide a set of guiding principles for our employees. We will continue to perform our duties in a well-planned, efficient, and professional manner making it possible for you to enjoy the high quality of services you have come to know and expect.

You will find this website depicts the many services we provide on a daily basis for those who live, work, and visit our community. Many of these services are vital to the health and well-being of our residents.

The Department of Public Works, located at 320 Haywood Road, includes five separate divisions: Sanitation/Recycling, Roads, Facilities Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance, and Transportation (Dial-A-Ride) Divisions.

Other services include Mosquito Control, Clean Communities Program Coordination, Limited Lagoon Maintenance, Stormwater Management Program Coordination, and Gypsy Moth Control Program Coordination.

As Superintendent of Public Works, it is my pleasure to present this web page and I hope you find it helpful and informative.
