Summer Youth Police Academy

The Stafford Township Police Department will be sponsoring a Youth Police Academy this summer for Stafford Township Children entering the 7th grade as of September 2012. The Youth Police Academy will be held at the Stafford Township Police Headquarters.
The Youth Police Academy is not a "boot camp" for troubled youth, but a camp designed to operate like an actual police academy for those interested in law enforcement
The objective of the Youth Police Academy is to educate the cadets with various police procedures, history of the Stafford Township Police Department, tours of the Police Headquarters, field trip to the NJ State Police Museum and Learning Center and give them comprehensive understanding of what it takes to succeed in the profession of law enforcement.
Cadets should be prepared for an experience spanning a wide variety of Law Enforcement techniques and training. We place strong emphasis on self respect, respect of others, teamwork and commitment to one’s goals. This will be accomplished through structured events which will be offered in a fun, informative, interactive, educational and hands-on manner. The curriculum will consist of educational activities as well as physical training activities.
Requirements:
1. Completed application. Applications must be completed in black ink and signed.
2. One letter of recommendation from a teacher or principal
3. Completed essay question
4. Must be an incoming 7th grade student as of September 2012
5. Must be a Stafford Township resident
UPON ACCEPTANCE:
6. Completed medical certification form
7. Signed medical release form and civil liability form
8. Signed media release form

Applications MUST be submitted no later than May 1, 2012 to Stafford Township Police Headquarters (Attn: Youth Police Academy)
If you are accepted to the Youth Police Academy you will receive a letter in the mail the no later than June 4, 2012. At that time you must mail a check in the amount of $75.00 made payable to Stafford Township Police Department to the following address:
