The Community Development Department is responsible for various land use related activities throughout the Township. All zoning issues including the issuance of zoning permits and investigating possible code violations based on the Township Code are dealt with through the Department.
The Department also provides administrative and technical support for the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment as well as the Environmental Commission and the Township’s Affordable Housing Program.
In addition, the Department oversees the Township’s participation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS) in connection with Floodplain Management.
Finally, the Department is the main point of contact for the U.S. Census.
