Assault by Auto Arrest
Eileen King, 51 of Cedar Run was arrested on October 3, 2016 on the strength of a warrant issued out of Stafford Township in the amount of $50,000 set by the Honorable Judge Damian Murray.
The warrant stems from a serious motor vehicle collision which occurred on Route 9 at Mayetta Landing Road on September 7, 2016 at 7:36 p.m. The collision involved King, traveling north on Route 9 when she crossed over the centerline crashing head-on into a 1995 Geo Metro operated by Paige Spano, 20 of Tuckerton.
Spano suffered extensive injuries from the collision and is now home recovering. King also had a 5 year old male on board who suffered moderate injury from the collision due to not being in a child restraint system.
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was learned King was operating while under the influence of prescription medication and charged with Assault by Auto and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail pending grand jury action in Ocean County Superior Court.
King was also charged with, Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, Failure to have a child in a child restraint and Failure to Maintain Lane.
